Problem Statement
The Issue
You're trying to access a module but getting an error message like:
- "Module access denied"
- "You don't have permission to access this module"
- "This module is not available on your plan"
- "Module locked by plan"
- Getting a 404 error when accessing a module URL
Common Scenarios
Scenario 1: Permission Error
- You see the module in navigation but can't access it
- Clicking the module gives an error
- Module appears grayed out or disabled
Scenario 2: Plan Limitation
- Error message mentions your plan
- Module is listed but says "Upgrade required"
- You can see the module but can't use its features
Scenario 3: Business Admin Restriction
- Module is disabled at business level
- You can't enable it in your personal settings
- Error says "Disabled by business administrator"
Understanding the Two-Level Access System
Business Admin vs User Level
Piraja CRM uses a two-level access system:
Business Administrator Level
- Controls which modules your entire business can access
- Can enable/disable modules for all users
- Has full control over business-wide module settings
- Can override individual user preferences
User Level
- Controls which modules appear in your personal navigation
- Can show/hide modules you have access to
- Cannot enable modules disabled by business admin
- Personal preferences only
How It Works
For you to access a module:
- Business Admin must enable it for your business
- You must enable it in your personal settings (optional, but recommended)
If either level blocks access, you won't be able to use the module.
The Hierarchy
Business Enabled → User Enabled = Full Access
Business Enabled → User Disabled = Hidden but Available
Business Disabled → User Enabled = Not Accessible
Plan Limitations
Understanding Plan Tiers
Different plans include different modules:
Free Plan
- Core CRM modules only
- Basic features
- Limited integrations
- Community support
Pro Plan
- All core modules
- Advanced features
- More integrations
- Priority support
Enterprise Plan
- All modules
- All features

- Dedicated support
Module Availability by Plan
Some modules require specific plan tiers:
Free Plan Modules:
- Individuals
- Organizations
- Notes
- Tasks
- Basic Tickets
Pro Plan Modules:
- All Free plan modules, plus:
- Advanced Opportunities
- Pipeline
- Calendar integrations
- Advanced Billables
Enterprise Plan Modules:

Checking Your Plan
- Go to Business Settings → Plan (Business Admins only)
- Or contact your business administrator
- Check which modules are available on your current plan
Upgrading Your Plan
If you need a module that's not on your plan:
- Contact your business administrator
- They can upgrade the business plan
- Once upgraded, the module will be available
- Business admin can then enable it for your business

Step-by-Step Solutions
Solution 1: Check Your Personal Module Settings
For any user:
- Go to Settings → Modules (or
/modules) - Find the module you want to access
- Check if it's toggled ON
- If OFF, toggle it ON
- Refresh the page
Note: If you see "Disabled by business admin", you need Solution 2.
Solution 2: Ask Business Admin to Enable Module
If you're not a business administrator:
- Contact your business administrator
- Explain which module you need access to
- Ask them to:
- Go to Business Settings → Modules
- Find the module
- Enable it for your business
- Once enabled, you can enable it in your personal settings
If you're a business administrator:
- Go to Business Settings → Modules
- Find the module
- Check if it's available on your plan
- If available, toggle it ON
- All users can now access it (if they enable it personally)
Solution 3: Upgrade Your Plan
If module requires a higher plan:
- Business Admin should:
- Go to Business Settings → Plan
- Review available plans
- Upgrade to the plan that includes the module
- After upgrade:
- Module becomes available
- Business admin can enable it
- Users can then access it
Note: Only business administrators can upgrade plans.
Solution 4: Verify Module Dependencies
If module requires another module:
- Check which module is required
- Ensure the required module is enabled at business level
- Enable the required module in your personal settings
- Then enable the dependent module
Example:
- Google Calendar requires Calendar module
- Enable Calendar first, then Google Calendar
Solution 5: Check Your User Role
If you're getting permission errors:
- Verify your user role:
- Go to Profile → Account
- Check your role (User, Business Admin, etc.)
- Some features may require specific roles
- Contact business admin if you need role changes
Solution 6: Clear Cache and Refresh
If settings seem correct but still getting errors:
- Clear browser cache
- Hard refresh:
- Windows/Linux:
Ctrl + Shift + R - Mac:
Cmd + Shift + R
- Windows/Linux:
- Log out and log back in
- Try accessing module again
Common Causes
Why Permission Errors Happen
1. Module Disabled at Business Level
- Business administrator disabled the module
- Solution: Ask business admin to enable it
2. Plan Limitations
- Your plan doesn't include the module
- Solution: Upgrade plan (business admin must do this)

- You toggled the module OFF
- Solution: Toggle it back ON in Settings → Modules
4. Missing Dependencies
- Required module is not enabled
- Solution: Enable required module first
5. Incorrect User Role
- Your role doesn't have access
- Solution: Contact business admin to change role
6. Browser Cache Issues

- Solution: Clear cache and refresh
7. Module Not Released
